pitals?large enough to carry a full range of facilities yet small enough for a personal rather than an institutional atmosphere. It is easily accessible, on the edge of greater London. There was no school available, so we confined ourselves to patients over 15 years old. For the purpose of this article, I have confined myself to the 97 girls and 84 boys, up to the age of 18, admitted between 1958 and 1965. We have, however made special provisions for the large numbers of patients up to the age of 25 who show prolonged adolescent reactions. Since 1965 the work has continued at, if anything, an accelerated pace. Diagnosis in adolescents is rather difficult, but the following table gives the crude picture of our admissions.
